Just one click and all the unusual details and interesting stories of places that inspired the collections of creative director Alessandro Michele will be revealed on smartphones to enchant fans and travelers.
The historic Florentine maison launches Gucci Places an innovative Travel App that will create a network of special sites culturally and aesthetically linked to Gucci.
Gucci Places will let users explore various locations around the world that have inspired the brand’s collections throughout the years. Beyond providing a history lesson, the platform will be highly usable for travelers on the ground. A geo-locational feature will let users “check in” and receive a badge in the process. When users will be near a Gucci Place, a notification will be displayed on their device that will invite to visit the site. Once inside, the app will allow visitors to sign up and get their badges so they can get a detailed description of the location through text, images, and videos.
The first Gucci Place to be unveiled will be the historic English estate Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, England, where Gucci supports a great exhibition titled “House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion at Chatsworth”. Chatsworth was also the set of Gucci Cruise 2017 advertising campaign, featuring the participation of British great actress Vanessa Redgrave. To celebrate the project, a selection of Gucci Courrier accessories will feature two special patches—one representative of Chatsworth’s Ducal Coronet and Snake Logo and the other a bee, the symbol of Gucci Places.
The launch of this creative App is scheduled for September. In the coming months the project will be expanded with the addition of other Gucci Places and dedicated articles to these exceptional locations.
